The wisdom of the trees....

I'd like to talk with you today about the magic and wonder of trees and why teach us so much. Ever since I was a child, I loved being around trees. I think it might have been my cousin who instilled this in me. I remember one summer day when he came to visit me saying something like "your street has no trees on it!" I never really thought of it before then and then suddenly I was always looking at the trees. I started to wonder why there were no trees on my street. As I grew older, I made sure that every place I lived was on a tree lined street or near a small forest.
It was around this time that I started to go down my spiritual path and I remember reading about how trees are sentient beings who we can connect with. I decided to put this to the test. Every time I went out into nature, I would say hello to them. I would put my hands on their bark and imagine myself becoming one with their infinite energy. "Each tree has its own unique vibration , its own energy!, " I thought, as I became very excited.
As I continued to develop my spiritual gift and abilities, I realized that I am very connected with the trees. I have spent lifetimes among the forests and recalled moments where I was a guardian or protector of the trees. I saw visions of me at the tops of the trees looking out for danger and feeling so at peace within their loving arms. Even today, when I go to the forest , I immediately feel at home as if its instilling some ancient memory of a place I know in my heart but cannot remember mentally.
Today, I went to the forest again and sat with the trees and just thought how it would be nice to share a reminder with you about what they teach us as humans. Trees have been on earth much longer than us and they have within their roots, indeed their DNA, the memories of the earth. Roots are not just used to pull up nutrients from the earth, but to pull wisdom and knowledge from deep within Gaia. Trees are indeed wise beings who never ask for much. They are perpetual givers. Of course they give us oxygen to breath, but their gifts, knowledge and wisdom are so much more.
Trees teach us to continue to grow no matter what is happening around us. That despite stormy weather or any perceived lack of resources we can still grow. Trees withstand the seasons. You may have seen trees growing on the side of a rock. Some trees, like Sequoias, are immune to fire. Some are skinny, some are enormous, yet all of them go with the flow. They sway with the gentle breeze and offer us a sign to let go. To surrender and bend with the wind not fight against it.
Trees have witnessed countless human wars, deforestation, fires, as well as many wonderful and courageous feats of man. Despite the fact that sometimes we have seen trees as a disposable resource , they have lived in cooperation with us. In fact, trees live in cooperation with all of nature. As said in the previous paragraphs, they give so much. Trees are homes for many insects, birds, rodents, plants, and reptiles. They gladly give of themselves for the betterment of the planet.
Trees offer us shade, shelter, wind, flower, and of course- food! Fruit, nuts, and teas. They cooperate with us and other trees like a grand network ; an internet if you will, but not a web of digital information. They operate from a web of spiritual connection.
So again, I want to remind you about the wisdom that Gaia, the forest, and all of nature has to offer. As we become more disconnected from each other as we become glued to our digital devices, let us come together and connect with each other the way the trees do. Let us all return to the harmony that was once within us, that is still within the hearts and cellular memory of each of us.
Remember the wisdom of the trees, dear one , and let it activate your spiritual heart. You have much to teach, much to learn, and much to remember. Today, instead of becoming disconnected- return to your roots . Surrender, and let the forest teach you.
